she couldn't help but wonder.

kat has been 'camping' the same area in avia for quite a while, all in the search of a particular mob that will be fun to fight and perhaps drop some loot that she could use. everyone else seemed to be gearing up lately, but not her. not yet at the very least.

and now, walking upon this bridge with her eyes peering down towards the ground below... the mage couldn't help but wonder.

she denies gavin's bold claim with a sway of her hand, katherine not minding the mundane and weak mobs to the point of caring about what they may or may not do. enough damage to kill her? nope, far from it. at least as much as she's concerned. perhaps one day an npc will catch her by surprise. "good. because i don't need to worry about someone KSing my mobs. i need this loot." kat mentions before allowing mana to flow into her wand, causing it to beam with ice magic.

a moment passes before she shoots a beam of it to freeze one of the swellows solid, not waiting another second.

She seems arrogant about her abilities, which is only grating in how outwardly confident she is. It reminds Gavin of his youth. Now, he's more subtle about his narcissism. It never looked good to talk shit and prove unable to back it up.[break][break]

Fortunately for the mage, her ice moves lend well to training in this area.[break][break]

Gavin is less advantaged, but he makes up for it with nimble footwork and dodging. A Swellow that dives him with its quick attack finds itself poisoned by baneful bunker and summarily finished off with venoshock.

she refers to the fact he'd been attacked by one of the swellows, not missing the chance to tease him a bit over it. "if you can't finish one of the mobs by yourself, just let me know." she wouldn't give up on the experience points. and now, with the appearance of the ninjask, kat can't help but spin and dance to herself as flames are directed towards the poor bug-type. it attempts to confuse her by creating copies of it, but her attack covers a wide range. she doesn't miss.

katherine sounded skeptical. or maybe she just wanted to sound that way to get on gavin's nerves. it might just cause him to leave and let her take all the exp for herself-- who knows? she knew that she could use it. she watches as the ninjask that spawned for him is downed by several dark pulses, choosing not to comment. well, this did confirm that he was capable to stay here and farm even alone if he wanted to. shit. he won't be letting her have this spawn of mobs for herself.

whatever. she'll make do.

.. and perhaps it was for the better that gavin stayed, since what appeared to be a boss-- well, a small version of one - appeared next. a large pidgeot who's mere cry caused other npcs to run away, "oh. look. we got lucky!" a smile touches her lips, lifting them to welcome the mini-boss with a joyful expression. "if you want my advice? try not to let this one hit you."

kat spoke as she charged her wand with ice mana, shooting a beam of ice at one of the bird pokemon's wings, attempting to slow it down, if not freeze it entirely. in response, the wing flashes with a bright steel effect, signaling that it used STEEL WING and was preparing to attack kat in response. "that's... impressive!" as it descends downwards towards the mage, she hurls a large icicle that's conjured on the spot, her wand easily birthing life into it. however-- it'd be up to gavin to finish it off. else the bird will definitely reach kat in time.
